Terrorists have killed three persons and abducted another three in an attack on Kuta town in Shiroro local government of Nigeria’s Niger State.
The council chairman Akilu Kuta however escaped being abducted when the terrorists stormed some communities surrounding Kuta town.
The attack came 24 hours after the Councillor of Allawa ward in the Shiroro local government area was killed by terrorists.
It was gathered the council boos was en route to Minna via Egwa-Kuta, road narrowly escaped the attack with Niger All Progressives Congress(APC) Assistant Youth Leader, Suleiman Saidu Galkogo. But their vehicles were badly damaged from gun bullets.
The Nation learnt the terrorists launched an attack on Chiri, Kadna, Kam, Vemu, and other adjoining villages along the Zumba-Gwada road for over five hours.
Among those abducted were a woman and her daughter-in-law in Bmanape community.
The terrorists were also said to have rustled several cattle and blocked the highway at Egwa village causing motorists to turn back in haste when they were sighted.
Vehicular movements were brought to a standstill as gunshots were fired into the air while a motorist who tried to turn back had an accident.
The Niger Police Command and the State Government were yet to speak on the incident.
The Shiroro local government chairman declared a 7pm to 7am curfew in Gwada and its environs.
